Deacon Season Opener To Be Televised By ESPN-U

The 2005 Wake Forest football season opener against Vanderbilt on Thursday, Sept. 1 will be televised by ESPN-U, the most recent addition to the ESPN family of networks. The Deacons and Commodores will kick off the season at 7 p.m. at Groves Stadium.
The WFU-Vandy game will be the first college football game carried by ESPN-U.
Two other Wake Forest games have already been slated for national television. The Deacons' game at Nebraska Sept. 10 will be televised by TBS (7 p.m.) and the regular season finale Nov. 17 against visiting Miami (7:30 p.m.) will be broadcast on ESPN.
Other Wake Forest games in 2005 could be televised either regionally or nationally by the ESPN family of networks, ABC regional or Jefferson-Pilot. The majority of games televised by those networks are selected 12 days prior to kickoff.
