Women's Soccer Ranked 21st In Preseason Polls

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's soccer team is ranked 21st in the adidas/National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll and Soccer Buzz Magazine preseason polls. The Demon Deacons are ranked fourth in the Southeast Region by Soccer Buzz.
Wake Forest once again faces a tough schedule. The Deacons will host three of the top-five preseason teams in the nation including No. 2 North Carolina, No. 4 Virginia and No. 5 Santa Clara.
Duke, ranked 12th, and Boston College, ranked 16th, also represent the ACC in the adidas/NCSAA poll. Clemson and Maryland received votes.
The Deacs will finish up the exhibition season on Friday, Aug. 19, against Texas at 6:30 pm at Spry Stadium.
Wake Forest opens the regular season by hosting UNC Wilmington Friday, Aug. 26 at 7:00 pm at Spry Stadium. The Deacons will then travel to Davidson on Aug. 28.
Sept. 2 and 4, Wake Forest will host the ACC/West Coast Conference Challenge. The Deacs and Virginia Tech will each play Santa Clara and Washington State.
Wake Forest will round out the non-conference slate by traveling to Washington State, Oregon State and UNC Greensboro.
Wake Forest will host conference opponents Virginia, Virginia Tech, NC State and close the season with North Carolina.
The Deacons will travel to Maryland, Boston College, Duke, Clemson, Florida State and Miami.
