WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team hopes to keep its five game home winning streak alive as the Demon Deacons host 24/18 Virginia Tech, Thursday evening in Joel Coliseum. The Demon Deacons are coming off a tough ACC loss to Clemson this past weekend. Senior Cotelia Bond-Young scored 25 points, while freshman Deirdre Naughton added 18, 16 of which were scored in the second half. Freshman Alex Tchangoue also had a strong outing for the Deacs, scoring 11 points and adding the team-high nine rebounds.
The Hokies come to Winston-Salem after a tough 78-59 loss at home to Virginia, to drop their ACC record to 1-2. Despite the loss, Virginia Tech carries a 14-2 overall record, including a 13 game non-conference winning streak. The Hokies, who have a veteran squad of four senior starters, have three players averaging in double figures, including Kerri Gardin (12.5ppg), Dawn Chriss (11.4ppg) and Carrie Mason (10.7ppg).
