WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's soccer game against Duke was suspended until a further date due to inclement weather after 51 minutes of action, Wednesday evening from Spry Stadium. The game will be played from the beginning at a further date that is yet to be determined.
When the inclement weather occurred, the Blue Devils (7-5-1, 3-2 ACC) were leading 1-0 off a goal from Sarah Murphy in the 49th minute. Through the first half, the two teams were scoreless and the Blue Devils led in shots, 6-5.
As the second stanza began, the Deacs did manage one quality opportunity from freshman Sarah Winslow that landed just wide of the net. It was one minute after that shot occurred that the Blue Devil's scored the lone goal of the game.
Wake Forest (12-2, 4-1 ACC) will next travel to Clemson on Sunday, Oct. 15. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
