
Wake Forest Kicks Off Exhibition Season with Lenoir-Rhyne

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team will kick off its exhibition season on Wednesday, Nov. 1, when it hosts Lenoir-Rhyne at 7 p.m. at the Joel Coliseum.
The Demon Deacons will play two exhibition games this week. In addition to the game with Lenoir-Rhyne, Wake will also host Anderson University on Friday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Joel.
Admission to both exhibition contests is free to the public. Seating for both games within Joel Coliseum is general admission.
Wake Forest will open up the regular season on Friday, Nov. 10, against Indiana in the Women's Sports Foundation Classic. The Lexington, Ky. tournament also features Washington State and host Kentucky.
The Deacons will take on either Washington State or Kentucky on Sunday, Nov. 12, to wrap up the season-opening event.
Wake will play its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 14, when it hosts Western Carolina at 7 p.m. in the Joel Coliseum.
The Demon Deacons return five letterwinners from last year's squad that finished 12-16 overall and 3-13 in the ACC.
Sophomores Corinne Groves and Alex Tchangoue are Wake's two lone returning starters. The Deacs also return juniors Christen Brown and Melissa Washington and sophomore Yolanda Lavender.
Wake Forest also added six freshmen to the mix this season, including redshirt freshman Sarah Riddle.
The Deacs, who were picked to finish 11th in the ACC in the preseason media poll, are led by third-year head coach Mike Petersen.
