Wake Forest, coming off its most lopsided and complete victory of the season, hosts longtime non-conference rival Richmond Friday night at Lawrence Joel Coliseum (7:00 p.m./Webcast).

The Demon Deacons, 6-4 overall and 0-1 in the ACC, whipped visiting Gardner-Webb 92-60 Tuesday night. Wake Forest's 28 assists tied for the third-most in school history, their field goal percentage (.667) was the fifth-highest in Deacon history and their three-point percentage (.667) was the highest ever in a game in which they attempted at least 15 shots from behind the arc.

Five Deacons average at least 8.6 points per game, but the leader has clearly been 6-11 senior center Kyle Visser (18.9 ppg and 8.2 rpg). Visser leads the ACC in field goal percentage (.689), ranks second in rebounding, fourth in scoring and eighth in blocked shots. He has scored in double figures in every game this season.

Richmond, 4-5, is coming off a 93-84 home loss to VMI Wednesday night. The Spiders began the year 3-0, then lost three straight before posting an impressive road win at previously unbeaten South Florida, 54-46.

The Spiders are led by 6-9 freshman Dan Geriot (13.4 ppg) and 6-5 senior Peter Thomas (10.8 ppg). Freshman Kevin Hovde (4.6 ppg) had 24 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocked shots in Wednesday's loss.

Friday's game will be the 45th meeting between the two private schools. Wake Forest leads the all-time series, 35-9, and has won the last 14 meetings.

Following the Richmond game, Wake Forest will break for Christmas and return to action Dec. 29 against South Florida at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Fla.

Tuesday's Win One For The Record Book

Wake Forest turned in one of the better statistical games in school history Tuesday night in a 92-60 win over visiting Gardner-Webb: n The Deacons' 28 assists were the most in the Skip Prosser era, tied for the third-most in school history and were the most since Nov. 16, 2000 vs. Mount St. Mary's.
