WINSTON-SALEM - Tickets for the 2007 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament first and second round games at Lawrence Joel Coliseum are sold out, Wake Forest and coliseum officials announced today.

Wake Forest is serving as host for the March 15-17 event.

The Joel Coliseum ticket office quit accepting tournament applications today.

Joel Coliseum will be hosting first- and second-round games for the fourth time. Other tournaments were held in 1993, 1997 and 2000.

"This is definitely the quickest we've had a sell-out," Coliseum Director Bucky Dame said. "It could be attributed to the popularity of college basketball in this area.  This is truly one of America's finest sporting events and the fans will have an opportunity to see it close to home."

A random selection process will be utilized to determine ticket recipients.  Ticket applicants that were not chosen by the random selection will be notified and their refunds will be mailed on June 1.  Tournament tickets will be mailed no later than January 31, 2007.

The economic impact of the event is expected to be over $12 million dollars.
