Four Freshmen Recognized By College Soccer News

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The quartet of Cody Arnoux, Akira Fitzgerald, Mbizo Mzamane and Zack Schilawski were honored Monday by College Soccer News as four of the nation's top 100 impact freshmen. Wake Forest was one of three schools, along with UCLA and South Carolina, that had at least four players listed.

Four-year letterwinner at New Hanover HS for head coach Chip Stone... finished his scholastic career with 106 goals and 82 assists... two-time NSCAA All-American... former under-15 and under-18 U.S. National Team member... member of the adidas/ESP Program and the Region III Olympic Development Program... 2005 North Carolina Player of the Year... served as team captain and named Most Valuable player for New Hanover HS... earned All-North Carolina honors his final three years... three-time region Player of the Year... earned All-Mid East 4A conference each of his four years... member of the National Honor Society and selected to honor roll each of his four years in high school... also a member of the Heritage Club... born in Stonybrook, New York on April 13, 1988... son of Jim & Nanci Arnoux.

Four-year letterwinner at Germantown Friends School for head coach Matt Zipin... set school and conference records with 34 goals in a single-season and 57 goals for his career... named All-Pennsylvania as a senior... named Most Valuable Player for Germantown Friends School... selected for Southeast Pennsylvania All-Star team in 2004 and 2005... led high school team in scoring each of his last three seasons... started every single game of scholastic career... plays club soccer for FC Bucks... helped former club team Radnor United to the under-17 Rider Cup with eight goals in four games... led the team in scoring... participated in the Big Brother & Big Sister program, as well as numerous theatrical productions... also had poetry and creative writing samples published... born in Lagos, Nigeria on Feb. 19, 1988... nationality is South African... son of Dr. L. The Demon Deacons open the 2006 exhibition season on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at UNC Wilmington. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
