Triad Teams to Tangle on Tuesday

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The No. 1 Wake Forest men's soccer team will face the UNC-Greensboro Spartans on Tuesday night in Greensboro at 7 p.m.
The Demon Deacons are 2-1 with the Spartans in the last three years. In 2006, the Deacons defeated UNC-G 3-0 at home. Senior Ryan Solle scored the game-winner from a penalty kick in the 19th minute and Zack Schilawski followed by netting his third goal of the season in the 28th minute. Evan Brown registered his only assist in 2006 when senior Steve Curfman completed his pass to score the final goal in the 31st minute.
The Spartans have compiled several stellar season records over the last few years, finishing 2006 in the third round of the NCAA tournament with a 16-8-1 record, ending 2005 with a 16-6-1 mark and 2004 at 19-3-1.
The Spartans also finished at the top of the Southern Conference in 2006.
The Demon Deacons are entering the contest with two blowout wins, including a 5-0 victory over Appalachian State and a 4-0 conference win over NC State, both at Spry Stadium.
