COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 18 Wake Forest women's soccer team will look to bring the heat to the ACC's northern-most schools this week, facing Maryland on Friday evening at 5 p.m. and Boston College at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
The Demon Deacons are 1-0-1 in the ACC, holding a 3-1 win over Virginia Tech and a 0-0 draw with Virginia. Overall, the Deacons are 6-3-2.
The Maryland Terrapins (5-2-2, 0-1-0) had a frustrating start in conference competition with a 1-0 loss in double-overtime to Clemson in South Carolina on September 27. The game-winner came in the 106th minute by way of a header from Clemson defender Molly Johnson.
The Terps are entering the contest coming off 2-0 shutout of Lehigh in College Park on Sept. 30. Junior forward Kaila Sciascia scored both goals for Maryland in the victory.
On Sunday the Deacons will face No. 9 Boston College, who is currently unbeaten in Division I competition. The Eagles (7-0-2, 0-0-1) faced their first ranked competition on September 30, drawing with No. 14 Clemson in South Carolina. The Eagles will host Duke on Friday night before clashing with the Demon Deacons on Sunday.
