WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 1 Wake Forest men's soccer team will host Davidson on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
The match is Wake Forest's (13-1-2, 5-1-1) final non-conference contest of the 2007 regular season.
The Demon Deacons are back on top of the polls this week following a 2-0 shutout over ACC rival North Carolina on Saturday. The rank marks the seventh week during the 2007 season that the Deacs have hit the top mark on either NSCAA or Soccer America polls.
The Davidson Wildcats are 4-12-1 for the season with recent losses to Duke and the College of Charleston. Robby Hoak, Davidson's 6-4 190-pound senior forward, leads the Cats with four goals for the year.
At the teams' last meeting, then-No. 7 Wake inched out a 1-0 win over the Wildcats with an 89th minute goal by Marcus Tracy. Zack Schilawski had the game-winning assist in the September 20, 2006 match.
The match will be streamed live over cyberspace on ACCSelect.com.
Following Tuesday's contest, the Deacons will host Virginia for the final match of the 2007 regular season on Friday, November 9. The game, set for 8 p.m., will be televised nationally on the Fox Soccer Channel.
