Adams, Haynes Earn All-Freshman Accolades

A pair of Wake Forest freshmen have been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman team by The Sporting News.

Redshirt freshman Josh Adams was named to the squad at running back while Hunter Haynes has been named as a linebacker.

In addition, Adams was named the ACC's Offensive Freshman of the Year by TSN and earned second team honors on the TSN Freshman All-America team.

Adams, a 6-0, 180-pounder from Cary, N.C. leads the Deacons with 887 yards rushing. He is third in the ACC in rushing and seventh in the country among freshmen. During the season, Adams set school freshman records for rushing yards and touchdowns (11).

Haynes, a 6-2, 224-pound redshirt freshman from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. (Nease) recorded 37 tackles to rank ninth on the team. He was Wake Forest's top freshman tackler. Haynes had two sacks for a loss of 16 yards in Wake Forest's 31-24 overtime win over Maryland on Sept. 22.
