Preview:

Wake Forest is set to begin a six-game homestand Sunday afternoon against Patriot League foe Bucknell. The Demon Deacons and Bison will tip-off at 2 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader with the Wake Forest women's basketball squad.

Sunday's game marks the arrival of Bucknell assistant coach Mark Prosser, the son of late Deacon head coach Skip Prosser. Skip, who spent six seasons at the helm of the Wake Forest program, passed away after suffering an apparent heart attack last summer. Prior to the season opener, Skip was honored with a banner that hangs in Joel Coliseum.

The Deacons, now led by Prosser protege Dino Gaudio, enter the weekend 5-3 overall. Wake is coming off a seven-day break for final exams and is looking to snap a two-game losing streak.

Wake Forest suffered back-to-back road losses at Vanderbilt and Georgia in its most recent action. James Johnson led the Deacs in both games, posting double-doubles in each.

Bucknell, 3-4 on the year, has not played since Dec. 3 when it snapped a four-game losing streak with a 67-66 defeat of LaSalle. John Griffin and Patrick Behan have led the Bison, scoring 13.3 and 12.6 points per game respectively. Todd O'Brien is the team's leading rebounder at 6.7 per game.

The Bison are making the return trip to Winston-Salem after the Deacons traveled to Lewisburg, Pa., on Nov. 14 last season. Wake , who became the first-ever ACC team to play at Bucknell, escaped with an 86-83 win in overtime.

Next Up:

Wake Forest continues its homestand with Big East opponent South Florida on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Deacs will then begin ACC play against Virginia Tech on Dec. 23. The matchup with the Hokies, set to tip-off at 5:30 p.m., will be broadcast on FSN's Sunday Night Hoops.
