Charlotte, NC - Wake Forest head football coach Jim Grobe put the Deacons through a 90 minute practice Wednesday morning at Charlotte Country Day School as the team prepares for Saturday's Meineke Car Care Bowl game against Connecticut.

The game will be televised nationally by ESPN and will kickoff at 1:00 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium.

The Deacons practiced in helmets only on Wednesday as they concentrated on special teams work and general game preparation for Saturday's contest. The Meineke Car Care Bowl marks the second consecutive year that the Deacons have been to a bowl game.

Grobe and a number of players visited patients at the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, distributing presents. The team is scheduled to attend Wednesday's NBA game between the Washington Wizards and the Charlotte Bobcats at Bobcats Arena. The Wizards are led by former Demon Deacon Darius Songaila while Charlotte features former UConn Huskie Emeka Okafor. Friday night, the Bobcats entertain the New Orleans Hornets and former Deacon guard Chris Paul.

Thursday morning both the Deacons and the Huskies will visit Lowe's Motor Speedway for team outings.
