Preview:

Wake Forest is set to play its second straight road game against an SEC opponent on Saturday at the University of Georgia. The Deacons and Bulldogs will tip-off at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports South.

The Deacs, who enter Saturday with a record of 5-2, are coming off an 83-80 loss at No. 23 Vanderbilt on Wednesday. Wake Forest trailed for most of the game but took a brief lead with under two minutes to play. The Commodores held on in the end, however, avenging last season's 88-78 loss to the Deacons.

James Johnson posted his third consecutive double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Harvey Hale, who finished with 18 points, had his best shooting day since the season opener, going 4-for-6 from three-point range. Ishmael Smith dished out eight assists in the loss.

Georgia enters Saturday's matchup at 5-1 on the year. The Bulldogs are coming off an 81-74 defeat of Augusta State on Monday in Athens. Sundiata Gaines led Georgia with 24 points and five assists, while Billy Humphrey tallied 15 points for the Bulldogs.

Georgia leads the all-time series with Wake Forest 3-2. The Bulldogs edged the Deacons, 87-86, on Dec. 2 last season in Winston-Salem. Kyle Visser scored 26 points and added 12 rebounds for the Deacons, who had a chance to win after Gaines had a layup blocked with 7.9 seconds left. Gaines made up for the miscue by deflecting the inbounds pass to Visser, whose shot clanged off the rim as the buzzer sounded.

Next Up:

Wake Forest will be off for final exams next week before hosting Bucknell on Dec. 16. The Deacons are set to have a six-game homestand beginning with the Bucknell game. Wake will host South Florida on Dec. 19 before opening up ACC play against Virginia Tech on Dec. 23.
