Two Deacons Awarded All-ACC Academic Team

Wake Forest men's soccer players Sam Cronin and Zack Schilawski were named to the 2006 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men's Soccer Team as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
Cronin, a sophomore from Winston-Salem, was recently named the team's most valuable player at an awards banquet celebrating the past season. The undeclared major has maintained a 3.237 GPA during his three semesters as a Deacon. Cronin had four goals and four assists on the year and was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team as well as the NSCAA Second Team All-South Region while helping the Deacs to the 2006 College Cup.
Schilawski, also an undeclared major, registered a 3.80 GPA in his first semester as a Deacon. The Cary, N.C., native played in all 25 games and had six goals and four assists in his freshman campaign. In addition to the ACC's Academic team, Schilawski was also selected to the All-ACC Freshmen Team.
