Deacons Place 6th in Preseason Coaches Poll

Greensboro, N.C. - The Demon Deacons finished 6th in the Atlantic Coach Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, announced Tuesday by the ACC.

2007 marks the second consecutive year the Deacs were ranked in the middle of the pack. Last season, Tony da Luz's squad finished third overall in the ACC with a 6-4-0 mark.

Reigning national and Atlantic Coast Conference champion North Carolina was selected as the top pick for the 2007 conference season, as determined by a vote of the league's 11 head coaches. In addition, it marks the second year in a row that UNC, Florida State and Virginia have been predicted to finish as the top three teams in the league, respectively.
