WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Junior forward Cody Arnoux was named to Soccer America's and Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week after his performances against Elon and Virginia Tech.
After scoring only one goal in the first eight games of the season, Arnoux exploded for four goals in two games last week, scoring once against Elon and recording the first hat trick of his career against Virginia Tech. Counting his goal in Tuesday's game against UMass, Arnoux has scored five goals in his last three contests.
Against the Hokies, Arnoux notched the first hat trick of his career, scoring three goals in the span of 11 minutes late in the second half. The Wilmington, N.C., native is now second on the team in goals with six and third in points with 13.
Arnoux now has 22 goals in his career as a Demon Deacon. The 22 goals place him eighth on the Wake Forest career goals list.
Arnoux becomes the fifth different player to be honored by Soccer America this season. Corben Bone, Austin da Luz, Akira Fitzgerald and Marcus Tracy have also been honored by Soccer America this season.
Top Drawer Soccer has now honored three different members of the Wake Forest men's soccer team. Along with Arnoux, Top Drawer Soccer has named Lyle Adams and Evan Brown to its National Team of the Week earlier in the season.
Wake Forest returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Raleigh, N.C., to meet ACC foe NC State at 7 p.m. (ET).
