Wooster Named to Academic All-District Team

Wake Forest tight end Ben Wooster has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III first team.
Wooster, a 6-5, 235-pound redshirt junior from Suwanee, GA (Greater Atlanta Christian), is Wake Forest's second-leading receiver this year with 22 receptions for 197 yards and two touchdowns. Wooster returned to the Wake line-up this past Saturday against Virginia after missing two games with a strained hamstring. He caught a two-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Riley Skinner to stake the Deacons to a 7-0 lead.
A health and exercise science major, Wooster holds a 3.57 grade point average as a fourth-year junior. As a first team all-district selection, Wooster's name will now appear on the ballot for Academic All-America honors.
Wooster is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honorary and is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Athletic Director's council. He has earned Dean's List honors all six semesters and was picked for the ACC's Top Six for Service Award. Wooster is also a member of Mortar Board Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta, the national pre-med honor society, and volunteers at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Emergency Room.
In order to be eligible for the Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve and must maintain a GPA of at least 3.30.
In 2007, Louis Frazier was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America first team as an offensive tackle.
