Wake Forest University held its annual Pro Timing Day on Tuesday at the Doc Martin Football Practice Complex. A total of 28 National Football League teams were represented at the combine-style event. The scouts and club position coaches put the players through a number of tests and agility drills including the 40-yard dash, the 60-yard shuttle and the bench press.
Wake Forest had 10 seniors participate in the Timing Day including offensive linemen Steve Justice and Matthew Brim, defensive linemen Jeremy Thompson and Zach Stukes, running backs De'Angelo Bryant and Micah Andrews, long snapper Nick Jarvis, tight end John Tereshinski, and receivers Kevin Marion and Kenny Moore.
In addition, the scouts also worked out a number of area football seniors from Appalachian State, Elon, Western Carolina, Winston-Salem State, Gardner-Webb and Johnson C. Smith.
The Deacons will begin spring practice on Wednesday, March 25. Following position meetings and stretching, the team will hit the field at about 5:00 p.m. Wake Forest will follow the same schedule on Thursday and then will practice at 10:30 am on Saturday.
Due to NCAA regulations, the team will be limited to helmets only on Wednesday and Thursday and shells (helmets and shoulder pads) on Saturday.
