The Wake Forest women's soccer coaching staff is proud to announce the signing class of 2008. This year's group features nine student-athletes who have earned top honors on the high school level and in the Olympic Development Program ranks.
Eleanor Davidson - M/F - 5-5 - Pfafftown, N.C. - Ronald W. Reagan HS
Davidson is North Carolina Olympic Development Program (ODP), participant and current co-captain at Reagan High. With the TYSYSA 89 Lady Twins White, Davidson helped the squad reach the State Cup finals 2005 and finish third in North Carolina in 2007. Davidson was a Region Camp player from 2005-2007, earning a regional camp honorable mention in 2005. In her final high school season, the Winston-Salem, N.C. native enters play with an amassed 33 career goals and 16 assists and three consecutive All-Conference honors. Davidson also her helped her club team, the TCYSA 89 Lady Twins White, to the State Cup finals in 2006 and the State Cup semifinals in 2007.
Taylor Norman - M/F - 5-3 - Winston-Salem, N.C. - Ronald W. Reagan HS
Norman has served as the 89 Twins White co-captain for four seasons, and recently helped the team finish the season with a third place state ranking. She was a Region III Premier League athlete for three seasons and attended the Super Y national camp for two seasons, earning a spot on National Select Team her freshman season. At the end of her junior season with the Reagan High School squad, Norman earned All-Conference and All-Region Player of the Year Honors for her 15 goal contribution from the midfield.
Chelsea Allen - M - 5-4 - Crofton, Md. - Archbishop Spalding HS
Allen helped guide the Freestate Shooters to the U.S. Club U-17 National Championship in 2007 as well as the U-14 State Cup Championship in 2004. Allen also earned 2006 Co-National Champion honors in 2006 with Maryland State ODP, following a Region 1 championship. The Silver Spring, Maryland native is team captain of the Archbishop High School team and earned the squads "Unsung Hero" Award in 2007.
Sarah Shelness - D/M - 5-4 - Winston-Salem, N.C. - R.J. Reynolds HS
As a defender at R.J. Reynolds High, Shelness helped the squad post a 22-2 record through the last two seasons and was named the Demon defensive MVP for 2007. Shelness is an All-Conference and All-Region selection as well as a Twin City Youth Soccer RIII Premier League participant. Shelness has been with the North Carolina State ODP team since 2004 and earned an invite to the Super-Y League National team in 2005.
Jordan Feger - M/F - 5-3 - Louisville, Kent. - Sacred Heart Academy
Feger is a seven year member of the Javanon Soccer Club, where she has helped her team take four state championships and make three other state finals appearances. In 2007, as the Sacred Heart Academy team captain and MVP, Feger was instrumental in leading the Valkyries to the district, regional and state championship titles. Feger also earned First Team All-State honors and took the Kentucky High School State Tournament MVP for her stellar 2007 season. As a three-year Kentucky ODP veteran, Feger was selected to the regional camp holdover in 2006 and received a regional camp invite in 2007.
Amanda Howell - D - 5-6 - Colleyville, Texas - Colleyville Heritage HS
Howell is a two-time US Youth Soccer National Qualifier, including a finalist in 2007. As a club player for Kenny Medina at Dallas Sting 90 (2008) and Dallas Texans 90 Red (2004-2007), her team has achieved a national top ten ranking for six consecutive seasons, compiled a 123-17-13 record since 2003 and captured the state cup in 2006. In 2007, with the North Texas 89 ODP team, Howell earned a spot with the RIII 89 ODP Europe Tour Team and aided in her squad's 89 ODP National Championship. Howell is also a four-year letterwinner at Colleyville Heritage High, serving as captain in her junior and senior seasons.
Bianca D'Agostino - M - 5-3 - Longmeadow, Mass. - The Loomis Chaffee School
D'Agostino will be joining the Demon Deacons after completing one year at Penn State, where she played in 23 games with nine starts. In her prep career, under the direction of Bob Lathrop at The Loomis Chaffee School, D'Agostino amassed 76 goals and 44 assists through 65 games, helping the Pelicans post back-to-back undefeated seasons. D'Agostino is a Parade All-American (2006-07), a two-time NSCAA High School All-American and was named Connecticut Player of the Year for the 2006-07 season, where she assisted her squad in its third consecutive Class A New England Championship title. D'Agostino was selected for the U-14, 17 National Team Pools and was Region I ODP member from 2002-2007.
Taylor Mattox - D - 5-5 - St. Petersburg, Fla. - Seminole High School
This season, Mattox scored a team-high 21 goals in leading the Seminole High School Warhawks to the Class 5A girls region finals. In March, Mattox was named to the Pinellas County senior All-Star squad, as recognized by the St. Petersburg Times.
Lindsey Wofford - F - 5-7 - Pasadena, Calif. - San Marino High School
Wofford is a four year letterwinner at San Marino High School, where she earned a spot on the Rio Hondo League First Team and Pasadena Star News All-Area Team honors. In 2008 Wofford was a captain at the Southern California High School Senior All-Star game and took San Marino High's Most Valuable Player honor. The San Marino Titans finished third in the district for three seasons while Wofford served as a starting striker. Before making the full-time switch to soccer, Wofford was a track and field standout, taking first place in the 880-meter dash in the Rio Hondo League finals in 2005, along with first place finishes in the 440-meter and mile relays at the same event.
