WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest women's soccer team members Kaley Fountain and Amanda Barasha are two of 34 athletes from across the country attending the U.S. U-20 National Camp this week at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
Women's National Team head coach Tony DiCicco will add several new athletes to the 2008 player pool at the conclusion of the camp before he makes his final national team selections in the coming weeks.
The event will be Kaley Fountain's second national showcase this year. Over spring break, the Austin, Texas native was invited to participate at the 2008 Cyprus Women's Cup in Larnaca, Cyprus. Fountain earned a starting position in the pre-tournament matchup against Russia, and came off the bench for the U.S. during the final two games of the tournament against Canada and The Netherlands. In the semifinal contest against The Netherlands, Fountain logged 89 minutes from the backline in the 2-0 U.S. shutout.
