Brendan Gielow Named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District

Brendan Gielow, a sophomore men's golfer double-majoring in Mathematics and Religion, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic District III Second Team.
Gielow carries a 3.67 grade point average.
Gielow was recognized as the top academic performer on the golf team at the Wake Forest academic awards banquet last month and has been on the Dean's List all four of his semesters at Wake Forest.
He was named to the All-ACC Academic team for 2006-07 and is the number two scorer on the No. 12 Wake Forest men's golf team.
Gielow has recorded two top 10 finishes and four top 15 finishes for the Demon Deacons this season and currently holds the 11th-best stroke average in the Atlantic Coast Conference at 72.5 strokes per 18 holes
Gielow has volunteered for Campus Kitchen at Wake Forest, a program that uses cooked but never used food to make healthy meals for the needy of Winston-Salem and has volunteered for Back On Your Feet, helping prepare and serve food to the homeless.
Gielow has also volunteered for Santa's Helpers, a program designed to bring holiday gifts to the needy of Winston-Salem.
