Former Wake Forest wide receiver and kick returner Kevin Marion has signed a free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to an article posted on The Steel Tradition, a Steelers blog.
From The Steel Tradition:
"Pittsburgh continues to ensure that this season's special teams will be addressed, as they signed former Wake Forest wide receiver Kevin Marion to a free agent contract today (May 3). The signing was in response to the release of Purdue wide receiver and return man, Dorien Bryant, who failed his physical yesterday."
"Marion finished his collegiate career as Wake Forest's all-time leader in kickoff return yards. He was an honorable mention All-ACC selection as a return specialist in 2007. Marion led the ACC in kickoff return average at 31.3 and was third in the nation in return average."
"In 2007, Marion averaged the 31.3 return yards on 28 returns. He returned one for a touchdown, and 81 yard return in which Marion faked a hand off, than burst free for the touchdown. He ended the year with 876 kickoff return yards, and was second on the team in all-purpose yards. He runs a 4.3 40, which does make him an enticing prospect."
