Wake Forest Holds Fall Sports Media Day

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - On Monday Wake Forest hosted the Fall Sports Media Day which featured some of university's Olympic sport head coaches who are currently getting geared up for competition in the coming weeks.
Print journalists had a few minutes to talk with each coach and then the day wrapped up with the coaches answering questions on camera for the WakeForestSports.com web audience.
Schedules are starting this week for several of the Demon Deacon teams. Here's a list of regular season kickoff dates in August and September:
Cross Country - Wake Forest Relays - Aug. 29
Field Hockey - Saturday, Aug. 30 vs. Iowa (Big Ten/ACC Challenge)
Football - Thursday, Aug. 28 at Baylor - 8 p.m.; First home game - Saturday, Sept. 6 vs. Ole Miss - 3:30 p.m.
Men's Golf - Sept. 12 - Carpet Capital Collegiate Classic (Dalton, Ga.)
Women's Golf - Sept. 7 - NCAA Fall Preview (Owing Mills, Md.)
Men's Soccer - Friday, Aug. 28 vs. VCU in Chapel Hill; First home game - Friday, Sept. 5 vs. UCLA - 7:30 p.m.
Women's Soccer - Started Friday, Aug. 22 with a 2-1 overtime win over Utah; Next home game - Sunday, Aug. 31 vs. UNC Wilmington - 1 p.m.
Men's Tennis - Sept. 12 - Rice Invitational (Houston, Texas)
Women's Tennis - Sept. 12 - Georgia Invitational (Athens, Ga.); Home event: ITA Regionals - Oct. 22-27
Volleyball - Friday, Aug.29 vs. Davidson - 7 p.m. (Black and Gold Challenge)
