Wake Forest's win over Florida State moved the Deacons up several notches in each of the major college football polls. Wake is ranked 15th in this week's USA Today Poll and 16th in the Associated Press poll.
Wake is 3-0 on the year following Saturday's 12-3 win at Florida State. That victory marked the third straight time that the Deacons have defeated the Seminoles. Clemson is the only other team to have posted three straight wins over FSU in ACC games.
Through the first four weeks of the season, Wake Forest is the only school in the Football Bowl Subdivision that has three wins against members of the Big Six Conferences.
Wake Forest's highest ranking ever occurred on Oct. 20, 1947 when the Deacons were ranked 11th after a 39-7 win at George Washington. More recently, the Deacons were ranked as high as 14th on Nov. 12, 2006 after a 30-0 win at Florida State.
Southern Cal remained in first place in both polls followed by Oklahoma, Georgia and Florida. Wake Forest is the highest rated team in the ACC.
