WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball game against NC State originally planned for Monday, January 26, has been rescheduled for February 10 at 7 p.m., following the passing of NC State Head Coach Kay Yow.
Fans who hold vouchers for admission to the game will still be able to use the coupons on the new date.
Yow, who was in her 38th year of coaching, died Saturday morning after a long battle with cancer.
Following a team meeting with his players, Wake Forest head coach Mike Petersen spoke with the media about Yow's life and legacy.
"Coach Yow was a pioneer in our sport and is truly one of the legends of our sport," Petersen said.
"Today is a sad day for all of us that were fortunate enough to know her. Her record of accomplishments in women's basketball is unparalleled. But to all of those whose lives she touched her legacy will be her tremendous courage, faith, and love of people. Everyone who came in to contact with Coach Yow was better for the experience. Our prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time of loss."
