GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest senior forward Jill Hutchinson was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday by the league office.
Hutchinson scored two goals in Wake Forest's 3-0 win against then-No. 5 Florida State.
The win against the Seminoles improved the Demon Deacons to 10-2-1 on the season and 2-1-1 in ACC play.
Hutchinson, who was also named to the Top Drawer Soccer and Soccer America National Teams of the Week, recorded her third multi-goal game of the season and fourth of her career.
With Wake Forest leading 1-0 in the 57th minute, Hutchinson doubled the lead with a pin-point shot inside the right post. She added her second goal of the game in the 77th minute to put the Deacs in front 3-0.
Hutchinson leads the Demon Deacons with 10 goals on the season and also has a team-best 23 points. The Wayne, Pa., native is tied for second in the ACC in goals and is tied for third in points.
Hutchinson now has 32 goals in her career, placing her two shy of tying the school record, held by Sarah Kozey. Hutchinson also ranks fourth in school annals in career points with 76.
Wake Forest continues its conference slate with a pair of matches this week. The Deacs hit the road on Thursday for a 7 p.m. match at NC State and return home on Sunday to play Miami at 1 p.m.
