WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest junior long snapper Greg Bechtel has been named the King Fisher Society Student-Athlete of the Week.
The award, sponsored by the King Fisher Society, seeks to honor a student-athlete who has excelled both on and off the field as a Demon Deacon.
Bechtel, a fourth-year junior, is in his second full season as the Deacons' starting long snapper. He was perfect on all snaps in his first season as a starter in 2008. Becthel is also a key special teams performer for the Deacons and made two stops last week in Wake's win over Maryland.
Off the field, Bechtel is majoring in communication with a minor in entrepreneurship and social enterprise.
