WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomore punter Shane Popham has been named the King Fisher Society Student-Athlete of the Week.
The award, sponsored by the King Fisher Society, seeks to honor a student-athlete who has excelled both on and off the field as a Demon Deacon.
Popham, a third-year sophomore, is in his second full season as the Deacons' punter. The Crestview Hills, Ky. native is averaging 38.0 yards per punt, and he has put 10 of his punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line.
Off the field, Popham is majoring in business and enterprise management with a minor in entrepreneurship and social enterprise.
