Sideline Stretch, November 24: Petersen Previews Presbyterian
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team will host Presbyterian at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 29.
The Demon Deacons enter the game with a perfect 5-0 record, following a 76-52 win over High Point. Presbyterian is 0-6 with a recent 92-37 loss to North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The Blue Hose is in the third of a four-year transition period from Division II to Division I athletics.
Wake Forest played Presbyterian last season, taking an 83-31 victory in Winston-Salem.
DEACON BRIEFS
Morris
Courteney Morris sat out games against Coppin State and High Point after suffering a mild concussion during the Miami of Ohio game. The time out is strictly precautionary.
Big Week
On December 2 Wake Forest will host Illinois at 7 p.m. for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. On Friday the Deacons will depart for Georgetown to play the Hoyas on Saturday. Georgetown received four votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The Hoyas ended the Deacons' post-season run in the WNIT Tournament last season.
Sharp Shooting from Waters
Through the last four games junior Brittany Waters is averaging just under 24 points. She leads the team in point total and shooting from the charity stripe with 83 percent (30-36) for the year. She ranks 3rd in the ACC for scoring as of November 27.
Garcia on the Rebound
Garcia is currently averaging 10.8 rebounds per game, coming off a 16 rebound performance vs. High Point, including 11 offesnive rebounds. She ranks second in the ACC in rebounding as of November 27 and first in offensive rebounding.
In the ACC
Wake Forest ranks first among ACC teams in scoring defense with a 49.3 opponent points per game average and first in 3-point percentage defense with an opponent average of .197.
