
Deacons Roll Past Presbyterian 66-25

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team defeated Presbyterian 66-25 on Sunday afternoon, marking the second lowest opponent point total since 1972.
Wake Forest improves to 6-0 with the win and Presbyterian is 0-7.
Brittany Waters led both teams in scoring with 14 points and Presbyterian's Dria David led on the boards with nine. Asia Williams had the Wake Forest team-high five rebounds and Mariah Pietrowski had 10 points for Presbyterian.
11 Deacons contributed in scoring en route to Wake Forest's victory.
Wake Forest forced 20 Presbyterian turnovers in the first half and 18 in the second. The Deacons capitalized, scoring 34 points off Blue Hose turnovers by the end of regulation. Brittany Waters and Asia Williams each completed three fast break layups against Presbyterian.
The Demon Deacons charged out to a 12-1 lead, going 5-for-7 in the opening five minutes to help establish an advantage.
Wake Forest held the Blue Hose scoreless for over seven minutes in the middle of the first half, racking up a 30-6 lead before Shonda Burnside broke the Presbyterian dry spell with a free throw at the 4:54 mark. The Deacons stretched out a 42-8 lead going into halftime.
The Demon Deacons hit their largest lead of the game at the 9:13 mark in the second half, holding a 44-point advantage (57-13).
Next up for Wake Forest is competition in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Demon Deacons will host Illinois on Wednesday, December 2 at 7 p.m. at the Joel Coliseum.
