WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior quarterback Ryan McManus has been named the King Fisher Society Student-Athlete of the Week.

The award, sponsored by the King Fisher Society, seeks to honor a student-athlete who has excelled both on and off the field as a Demon Deacon.

McManus, a fifth-year senior, serves as Wake Forest's backup quarterback. The Greenville, N.C. native saw the most extensive action of his career last week against Miami. McManus subbed in for starter Riley Skinner, who suffered a mild concussion, and completed five of nine passes for 42 yards. He also rushed three times for 17 yards against the Hurricanes.

Off the field, McManus is majoring in communication with a minor in sociology.
