WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest is ready for no ordinary day at the beach, as the Demon Deacons head to the coast to play at in-state rival UNC Wilmington on Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Trask Coliseum. The game will be televised by ESPNU and will also be available on the Wake Forest ISP Sports Radio Network.

The Deacons are 6-2 on the season following their 90-50 rout of Elon on Sunday in Winston-Salem. Freshman forward Ari Stewart led Wake with a game-high 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Al-Farouq Aminu posted his fifth double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

In all, five Deacons finished in double figures scoring. Gary Clark and Ishmael Smith scored 12 points apiece, while L.D. Williams had 10. The 40-point win was Wake Forest's biggest since its 2008-09 season opener against N.C. Central, when the Deacons won 94-48.

Aminu continues to lead the Deacs, averaging a double-double of 15.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. C.J. Harris is second on the squad with 12.6 points per game, and Smith leads Wake in both assists and steals.

UNC Wilmington comes in at 4-5 (0-1 Colonial) on the year following its 79-59 defeat of Campbell on Monday in Wilmington. The Seahawks are led by Chad Tomko who averages 16.4 points per game.

Wake Forest leads the all-time series with UNCW, 11-0. The Deacons will be making their first visit to Trask Coliseum since picking up a 72-61 win at the venue on Jan. 2, 1989. Wake Forest defeated UNCW, 120-88, last season in Winston-Salem.

Deacons Are ACC's Top Rebounding Team
Wake Forest currently leads the ACC in rebounding with 44.0 boards per game. The Deacons are also second in the league in rebounding margin at +9.9. Wake has out-rebounded six of its eight opponents this season.

Next Up...
Wake Forest will open ACC play on Sunday, Dec. 20, by hosting NC State at 7:45 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on FSN. The Deacs will then break for the holidays before returning to action on Dec. 28 vs. UNC Greensboro at the Greensboro Coliseum.
