Team Records and Series Notes:
- Wake Forest improves to 19-4 overall and 6-4 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while Florida State drops to 19-6 and 6-4 in league play.
- The Demon Deacons now lead the overall series 23-16 and have won three of the last four meetings against the Seminoles. Wake is 13-4 all-time against the Noles in the Joel Coliseum.
- With the win, Wake Forest is within one victory of 1,400 wins in program history. The team's all-time record now stands at 1,399-1,056.
- Wake Forest is now 4-0 against ranked opponents this season. The Deacs are 133-312 all-time against ranked foes.
- The Deacons continued to play well at home, improving its home mark to 11-1 on the season. Wake Forest has won 30 of its last 33 games at the Joel Coliseum since February 6, 2007.
- Wake Forest returns to action on Wednesday, February 18, as it plays host to Georgia Tech. Opening tip at the Joel Coliseum is set for 7:30 p.m. (ET) and the game will be shown live online with ACC Select and the Wake Forest ISP Sports Network.
Wake Forest Team Notes:
- Key Run: After Florida State scored the first five points of the second half to cut the lead to 42-35, Wake Forest went on a 17-3 run to stretch the lead to 59-38 and effectively put the game out of reach.
- Key Stat: Wake Forest continued to excel on the defensive end, holding Florida State to 37.9 percent (22-of-58) from the field. The Deacs forced the Seminoles into 18 turnovers.
- The Demon Deacons enjoyed their best day from the free-throw line this season, shooting 84.2 percent (32-of-38) from the charity stripe.
- Wake finished just below 50 percent shooting from the field. The Deacs finished the game 26-of-53 (49.1 percent) from the field.
- The 23-point margin of victory was the largest for Wake Forest in ACC play this season and the most lopsided win in conference play since February 12, 2005, when the Deacs defeated Florida State 87-48.
- The Demon Deacons won the rebounding battle 37-34. Wake is now 13-1 this season when out-rebounding its opponent.
- Wake Forest controlled the paint area, outscoring the Seminoles 40-24 in the paint.
- Wake Forest has now made at least one three-point basket in 543 consecutive games.
Wake Forest Individual Notes:
- Freshman forward Al-Farouq Aminu led Wake Forest with 17 points on the season. The Norcross, Ga., native has now scored in double figures 17 times this season. He also tied for the team high with five rebounds and added a steal.
- Sophomore guard Jeff Teague scored 15 points to extend his streak of double-figure scoring performances to 27 games. Teague went 9-of-10 from the free throw line and also added four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.
- Junior guard Ishmael Smith tied a season high with 11 points and five rebounds. Teague also added four helpers to bring his career assist total to 396. He moved into seventh on the school's all-time assist list, passing former Demon Deacon great Chris Paul.
- Junior forward L.D. Williams scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor. Williams also brought down five rebounds and had an assist.
- Freshman center Tony Woods converted all of his free throws in the game, making a career high six shots from the charity stripe. He also grabbed two rebounds and had an assist.
