WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team defeated NC Central 63-48 on Thursday evening at the Joel Coliseum. The Demon Deacons improved to 16-5 for the season and the Eagles are now 8-16.

NCCU's Chasidy Williams was the game's high scorer with 20 points, followed by WFU's Brittany Waters who added 19 for Wake Forest. Waters led both teams in rebounding with 11 boards, marking her third double-double of the season.

Wake Forest point guard Tiffany Roulhac, who was sidelined 10 games into the season with an ACL injury, returned for the first time sine her December injury to play three minutes. She added one assist during her time on the court.

The Eagles took their only lead of the game just over three minutes into play. Chasidy Williams added two free throws to set the score at 5-4, but Wake Forest then added eight unanswered points to gain a lead it would hold for the remainder of the game.

At 10:33 in the second half the Demon Deacons held a 21 points advantage. The Eagles then staged a 15-2 run and whittled the WFU lead to just eight points with 5:43 to play. Secily Ray ended the NC Central scoring run by netting a layup and completing the 3-point play following a foul against Lavonna Hailey.

Wake will now finish up the regular season in conference play. On Sunday Clemson will host the Deacs at 1 p.m. at Littlejohn Coliseum. The game will be televised regionally on Fox Sports South.
