WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest's Jeff Teague has been named to the Sporting News All-America second team, as announced by the publication on Thursday.
Teague, a sophomore guard, was also named an All-American earlier this week by FoxSports.com.
The Indianapolis native leads the Demon Deacons and ranks fourth in the ACC with 19.4 points per game. Teague ranks fourth in the league in steals (1.9 spg) and seventh in assists (3.6 apg). He tied for the conference lead with three 30-point performances and holds the second-longest current streak for double-figure scoring at 33 games.
Teague is the first Deacon since Chris Paul in 2004-05 to be named to the Sporting News All-America teams.
Teague and the No. 8-ranked Demon Deacons will open ACC Tournament play on Friday, March 13. No. 2-seeded Wake Forest will face the winner of No. 7-seeded Maryland and No. 10-seeded NC State. The Deacs finished the regular season 24-5 overall and 11-5 in the ACC.
