The Wake Forest football team is expected to return to the practice field on Thursday, March 26, for the second of its 15 allotted spring practice sessions. Wake held its first practice on Tuesday, March 24 but postponed Wednesday's practice due to inclement weather.
The Deacons are generally scheduled to practice Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday for each of the next four weeks. However, all practice days and times are subject to change. Wake will generally take the field about 5 p.m. for the weekday practices. The team will not practice on Saturday, April 11, the day before Easter.
The team tentatively plans to scrimmage at BB&T Field on Saturday, April 4 at 9:15 a.m. The spring game will be held on Saturday, April 18 at the Doc Martin Practice Complex on the Wake Forest University campus.
The NCAA mandates that each of the first two practice sessions involve helmets only. The third practice will be held in shells (helmets and shoulder pads) before the team can suit up in full equipment for the fourth practice of the spring.
Wake Forest returns 44 lettermen from last year's team that went 8-5 and defeated Navy in the inaugural EagleBank Bowl.
The Deacons open the regular season at home against Baylor on Sept. 5.
