Josh Howard and the Dallas Mavericks concluded their 2008-09 National Basketball Association season with the loss at Denver last Wednesday night, 124-110. Howard totaled 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting. He added three rebounds and one assist in the contest.
Howard indicated he will get a second opinion from a foot and ankle specialist in New York before proceeding with arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle. During the season, Howard missed 22 games because of the injury.
With the Mavs' elimination, all of the former Demon Deacons have concluded their NBA seasons but not before gathering a host of awards and accolades. Among the four former Deacons, there were two All-Star starters, two All-NBA Second Team selections, one first-team NBA All-Defensive Team honoree, one second-team NBA All-Defensive Team member and five Player of the Week selections, while three helped advance their teams to the playoffs.
Check back for more updates on Tim Duncan, Howard, Chris Paul and Darius Songaila during the offseason.
