WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After a day off on Sunday, the Deacons returned to the Doc Martin Practice fields on a pleasant Monday afternoon for a two hour workout.

With less than two weeks before the first game, head coach Jim Grobe and his staff are starting to see what the makeup of the team will be when Baylor comes to town.

"We're starting to get a little bit of an idea on what our two-deep looks like but we still have some guys that we're looking at that could work their way into the picture," Grobe said. "I think from a competitive standpoint, we pretty much know who are two-deep is who those guys are that will compete for us this fall."

Having turned the corner in camp and with the realization that the first game is close, the Deacs have started to shift their focus from depth chart to what Baylor may bring.

"As coaches, we have been looking at Baylor for awhile now but the players haven't got too much of a look yet so we're slowly trying to work some of that in, "said Grobe. "I think it's probably too early yet to stop competing against each other completely, but I think we'll get into some of Baylor's stuff more this week."

Tuesday is a welcomed day for most of the players as it marks the final two-a-day workout of the season. The team will open the day with its third scrimmage of the camp at BB&T Field before returning to the Doc Martin Practice Complex Tuesday evening for a light practice in helmets to work more on special teams.

After Tuesday's scrimmage, Grobe and his staff will have a good idea what the roster will look like heading into the first game.

"This will probably be the last time that we look at some of the young guys from a competitive standpoint," said Grobe. "We'll still have some guys that will be in there on special teams throughout the year but we'll have a good idea after tomorrow who we'll want to redshirt and who will play for us against Baylor. I think we might want to work a bit more on special teams as well. We haven't done that much at the stadium and I think this will be a good opportunity for that."

The scrimmage will start at approximately 10:30 am and is open to the public. The evening practice will start at 7:45 pm and run until 9 pm.
