Wake Forest Hosts Loyola (Md.) on Sunday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's soccer team looks to close the month of August with a perfect 4-0 record on Sunday, when it plays hosts to Loyola (Md.) at 1 p.m. at Spry Stadium.
The Demon Deacons have gotten off to an impressive 3-0 start to the 2009 season. Wake Forest has scored 12 goals through the first three games of the year, including five scores in a 5-0 win against UNC-Wilmington in the team's last game. The Deacs lead the ACC in goals scored and shots (73) to this point in the year.
Senior forward Kaley Fountain scored two goals and an assist in Wake's win over UNC-Wilmington. Fountain has an ACC-best five goals on the season. Senior forward Jill Hutchinson notched her first multi-goal game of the season against UNCW, scoring two goals.
Senior goalkeeper Laura Morse recorded her first shutout of the season against the Seahawks. Morse made four saves and lowered her goals against average on the season to 0.37.
Loyola (Md.) enters Sunday's match with a 1-0 record. The Greyhounds will face High Point on Friday night, before battling the Deacs on Sunday.
Loyola opened the 2009 season with a 1-0 victory against Mount St. Mary's. Freshman Tessa McClenahan's first collegiate goal was the game-winner in the season opener for the Greyhounds.
Theresa Ferraina is the leading returning scorer from the 2008 Loyola team. Ferraina scored nine goals and added eight assists last season.
The Greyhounds are coached by Katherine Remy Vittori, who is the sister of former Wake women's soccer play Elizabeth Remy. Remy was a four-year letterwinner at Wake Forest, playing from 2003-06.
Individual tickets for Sunday's game are $6 each. However, fans that present a church bulletin at the ticket gate can buy one ticket and get the second for free.
