- Wake Forest moves to 2-1 on the season.
- Wake Forest has posted its 58th win of the decade, making the 2000s the winningest decade in school history by passing the 1940-49 era.
- Wake Forest has won its 100th all-time game at BB&T Field. Wake's record, since the facility opened in 1968, stands at 100-126-4.
- Jim Grobe improved to 56-45 in his ninth year at Wake Forest. Grobe is the first coach at Wake Forest to be 11 games over .500 since Peahead Walker retired after the 1950 season with a career record 26 games over .500.

Skinner Turns in Career Performance
- Senior QB Riley Skinner turned in one of the best performances of his already stellar career. Skinner completed 14 of 20 passes for a career-high 289 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.
- Skinner's 289 passing yards were his most since throwing for 271 yards against Connecticut in the 2007 Meineke Car Care Bowl. Skinner now has 7,221 career passing yards, making him just the fourth player in Wake Forest history to surpass 7,000 career passing yards.
- His three TD passes tied a career-high, matching his output in the 2008 season opener at Baylor. Skinner now has 40 career TD passes, which ranks fourth all-time at Wake Forest.
- Skinner surpassed the 200-yard passing mark for the first time since throwing for 232 yards against Duke last season.
- Skinner also finished with 299 total yards of offense today to move into second place on the school's career list. Skinner, who now has 7,356 career yards of total offense, passed QB Mike Elkins (1985-88) and is 482 yards back of career leader Brian Kuklick (1994-98) with 7,838 yards.
- Skinner added to his school record for pass completions, giving him 691 for his career.
Boo Robinson Moves Up on Wake Forest's Career Sacks List
- Senior NG Boo Robinson finished with four tackles, a sack and a pass breakup tonight.
- With his sack in the second quarter, Robinson now has 12.5 career sacks, moving him into a tie for seventh place with Matt Robinson (2004-08) on the school's career list.
Skinner to Williams for 80-Yard TD Strike
- QB Riley Skinner hit WR Marshall Williams for an 80-yard touchdown strike in the third quarter. It was the longest TD pass of Skinner's career and the longest reception of Williams' career.
- The touchdown completion was the longest-ever by Wake Forest in BB&T Field history, surpassing the previous long of 79 yards set against East Carolina in 2003. The stadium record is a 97-yard touchdown pass by Duke in 1989.
- The pass completion tied for the third-longest in school history.
Red Zone Attempts
- Wake Forest converted all three of its trips inside the red zone today. The Deacons converted with touchdowns on each attempt.
- For the season, the Deacons have now converted 10 of 11 red zone attempts for 90.9 percent. Wake Forest has produced nine touchdowns and one field goal this season when reaching the red zone.
Touchdown Notes
- Riley Skinner's touchdown pass to WR Jordan Williams in the first quarter was the Deacons' first first-quarter touchdown of the season.
- FB Mike Rinfrette rushed for a touchdown for the third-straight game.
- WR Chris Givens scored the first touchdown of his career, hauling in a 54-yard pass from Skinner in the second quarter.
- TB Josh Adams rushed for his first touchdown of the year and the 16th rushing TD of his career in the third quarter.
- Skinner hit WR Marshall Williams for an 80-yard TD strike in the third quarter, which was the longest TD pass by Wake Forest in BB&T Field history.
Rinfrette Scores Rushing Touchdown for Third Straight Game
- Senior FB Mike Rinfrette scored a touchdown for the third straight game this season. Rinfrette bulled in from one yard out in the first quarter to give Wake Forest a 14-0 lead.
- Rinfrette now has five career rushing touchdown and six TDs total.
- Rinfrette finished the night against Elon with three carries for 11 yards.
Freshman Jimmy Newman Handles Placekicking Duties
- Freshman PK Jimmy Newman saw action for the first time this season, handling the PAT attempts.
- Newman became the 15th true freshman to see the field during the Jim Grobe era and the first kicker since Ryan Plackemeier played during the 2002 campaign.
Miscellaneous Notes
- Wake Forest's game captains were LB Jonathan Jones and QB Ryan McManus.
- Wake lost the coin toss for the first time this season. Elon deferred, and Wake received the ball to open the game for the first time this season.
- Sophomore DE Gelo Orange blocked an Elon punt in the third quarter. It was the third career blocked punt of Orange's career.
- Wake Forest 28-point defeat of Elon tied for the sixth-largest victory of the Jim Grobe era. This was the Deacons' first 20-point victory since a 41-13 win at Baylor in the 2008 season opener.
