Jim Grobe is 4-5 in season-openers at Wake Forest
The Demon Deacons are 68-38-2 all-time in home openers.
Baylor leads the all-time series with Wake Forest 5-1.
Wake Forest falls to 26-9 in non-conference games under Jim Grobe.
The Deacons fall to 7-9 in games in which Riley Skinner throws an interception. Wake falls to 1-15-1 in games versus the state of Texas.
The Deacs are now 1-5 versus Baylor.
Miscellaneous Notes
Wake Forest's game captains were NG Boo Robinson and OG Jeff Griffin.
Wake won the toss and decided to defer. Baylor chose to receive and defend the North goal.
Career Highs
Sophomore Devon Brown posted career highs for carries (8) and rushing yards (46). He also tied his career-high with three receptions. He finished the game with 32 yards receiving.
Junior Jordan Williams tied his career-high with four catches. He ended the game with 42 receiving yards.
Sophomore Kyle Wilber had his first-career blocked field goal.
Senior Brandon Ghee (9), senior Jonathan Jones (7), sophomore Cyhl Quarles (7) and junior Matt Woodlief (6) all recorded career-highs in tackles.
Quarterback Riley Skinner
Senior Riley Skinner finished the game 20-of-31 for 143 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
Skinner is now seven pass completions away from breaking the school career record of 665 set by Brian Kuklick from 1994-98. Skinner now has 659 career pass completions.
Skinner is eight passing touchdowns away from tying the school record for most career touchdown passes of 44, which is shared by Gary Schofield (1981-83) and Brian Kuklick (1994-98).
The last time Skinner had at least three interceptions in a game was in 2008 at home against Navy (Sept. 27, 2008) when he threw four picks.
Brown, Parker and Rinfrette Hit Paydirt
Sophomore wide receiver Devon Brown caught his second career touchdown pass when Riley Skinner found him for a 19-yard score late in the third quarter. Brown's first career TD catch was in 2008 against Virginia.
Sophomore tight end Andrew Parker caught his first career touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Skinner hit Parker for a five-yard score to pull Wake Forest to within 24-21 at the 3:57 mark.
Senior fullback Mike Rinfrette recorded his second career rushing touchdown, running in from two yards out in the second quarter. His first was last year against Navy on Sept. 27, 2008.
Bohanon Sees Time as True Freshman
Fullback Tommy Bohanon became the 14th true freshman to play in a game for Wake Forest under Jim Grobe. Bohanon saw action in the backfield and finished the game with two runs for four yards.
Bohanon is the first-ever true freshman fullback to see action under Grobe. He is the first true freshman running back to play under Grobe since De'Angelo Bryant in 2003.
