Deacons Open ACC Season with Virginia Tech Tonight

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team begins play in the Atlantic Coast Conference tonight when it hosts Virginia Tech at 7 p.m.
Virginia Tech (10-4) is on a three-game winning streak, with a recent 74-44 win over Maryland-Baltimore County.
Wake Forest (9-5) has split its last two games, taking a win over Valparaiso in San Diego but suffering a 64-54 loss to Richmond on Monday in Winston-Salem.
Senior guard Lindsay Biggs leads the Hokies in scoring with 11.7 points per game and senior forward Utah Drye leads on the boards with a 6.6 rebound average.
Brittany Waters leads the Deacons with 16.5 points per game and Sandra Garcia has the team-high rebound average of 8.4.
Wake Forest will continue play in the ACC this weekend when it travels to Duke on Sunday at 1 p.m.
