Wake Forest Travels to William & Mary on Tuesday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest continues its non-conference schedule on Tuesday night when it travels to Williamsburg, Va., to face William & Mary. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.

The Demon Deacons enter Tuesday's contest with a 5-5-1 record on the season. Wake Forest is coming off its first conference loss of the season, a 1-0 setback at No. 4 North Carolina on Friday night. Michael Farfan scored the only goal of the match in the 21st minute to lift the Tar Heels to the win. The Deacs had several quality chances late, including a 30-yard free kick by Anthony Arena in the final 10 seconds that the North Carolina goalkeeper made a diving save on.
Sophomore forward Andy Lubahn leads the Wake Forest offense on the season with four goals and eight points. Three of Lubahn's four goals have been game winners. Freshman midfielder Luca Gimenez has contributed two goals and an assist, while sophomore defender Anthony Arena also has a pair of goals.
In net, redshirt senior keeper Akira Fitzgerald has posted a 5-5-1 record with a 0.98 goals against average. Fitzgerald has played every minute the season for the Demon Deacons, logging 43 saves and recording three clean sheets.
William & Mary is 7-2-1 on the season. The Tribe are unbeaten in their last four contests and have won two straight, including a 2-1 win at George Mason last Saturday.
Senior forward Ryan Snyder paces the William & Mary offense with a team-best 13 points, scoring a team-high five goals and three assists. Senior midfielder/forward Nathaniel Baako has distributed a team-best four assists to go along with three goals. Senior forward Alan Koger and redshirt sophomore midfielder Ben Anderson each have seven points on the year.
Senior goalkeeper Andrew McAdams has compiled a 7-2-1 record with a 0.88 goals against average. McAdams has 39 saves on the season and has posted two shutouts.
Wake Forest has never lost to William & Mary, winning each of the previous five matches. The last three meetings in the series have been close with Wake Forest winning each contest, 1-0. Tuesday's game marks the first meeting between the two sides in Williamsburg.
