Not all of the Wake Forest women's basketball preseason training this year is being done on the court. This past weekend, the team got together for a pair of off-the-court team bonding activities.
After a brief practice Friday morning, the team headed over to Board of Trustees member Ken Miller's house for a little outdoor fun. Everyone took turns on a zip-line and then a swing that overlooked a ravine. They then split into two teams and went inside for the Game Room Olympics. Each team had to pick a player to participate in either ping-pong, billiards, foosball, air hockey, bean bag toss and then everyone took a turn on the pop-a-shot.
On Saturday morning, the Deacons showed their support for heart disease awareness as they participated in the Start! Tanglewood Heart and Stroke Walk. The walk was a mile long and raised over $464,000 dollars.
After the fun weekend, the team did get back to work on the court as it held its first practice at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Monday. The practice lasted for just under three hours.

The Deacons continue their preseason practices for another three weeks before hosting Queens University in an exhibition game on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The season will officially open on Sunday, Nov. 14, when Wake hosts NC Central at 2 pm in the LJVM.
