Marshall Williams Records 100th Career Catch
- Redshirt senior wide receiver Marshall Williams reached the 100 reception plateau in the game, finishing with five catches for a team-high 62 yards.
- For his career, Williams now has 102 career catches for 1,459 yards.
- Williams is the 22nd Demon Deacon to record 100 catches in a career.
Chris Givens Reaches 1,000 Receiving Yards in Career
- Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Chris Givens became the 29th player in Wake Forest history to record 1,000 career receiving yards in today's contest.
- Givens finished the game with three receptions for six yards. He now has 68 career catches for 1,000 yards.
- Givens also had a career-long, 38-yard kickoff return in the third quarter.
Terence Davis Picks Up First Career TD
- Redshirt freshman Terence Davis caught his first career touchdown pass in the game.
- Davis hauled in an eight-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter for his only reception of the contest.
- It was Davis' first catch since hauling in three passes in the season opener vs. Presbyterian.
With the loss
- Wake Forest is now 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the ACC.
- Jim Grobe's record at Wake Forest is 61-57 and his overall record 94-90-1.
- Wake Forest has lost six straight games for the first time in the Grobe era.
- This was the first loss for the Deacons following an open date since 2005.
- Wake has now lost four straight road games.

- Redshirt senior Josh Adams carried the ball four times in the game and now has 512 career rushes, which ranks seventh in school annals. Adams finished the game with five yards on the ground.
- Redshirt freshman Josh Harris earned his fifth rushing touchdown of the season on a six-yard touchdown scamper in the first quarter. Harris ran the ball 10 times for 27 yards.
- Redshirt sophomore Kenny Okoro had a career-high nine tackles, including seven solo stops.
- Redshirt freshman Zach Thompson made a career-high five tackles.
- Redshirt freshman Alex Wulfeck booted his first two career punts in the game, recording punts of 32 and 36 yards in the fourth quarter.
- Sophomore Jimmy Newman has now made 59 consecutive extra points.
- With Kevin Johnson's start today, Wake Forest has started three true freshmen this season. It marks the most true freshmen to start a game in one season under Jim Grobe.
- Redshirt junior Devon Brown's streak of consecutive games with at least one reception was snapped at 19 straight games.
- Wake Forest opponents have now made 21 of their last 22 field goals.
- Maryland's interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter was the first time a Wake Forest opponent had returned an interception for a touchdown since November 22, 2008, when Boston College's Mark Herzlich had a 34-yard interception return.
- Shane Popham's punt that was blocked in the first quarter was the first Wake Forest punt to be blocked since October 11, 2007, at Florida State.
- Wake Forest had multiple kicks blocked in the same game for the first time since November 8, 2003, at North Carolina.
