Weekly Recap:
The Wake Forest men's soccer team won a pair of games last week, winning at Elon 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday and closing its home schedule with a 4-3 win over Boston College on Saturday.

The Demon Deacons are now 7-7-2 on the season and 4-2-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. With the win over BC, Wake Forest clinched the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament, which will be held November 9-14 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

Sophomore forward Andy Lubahn led Wake Forest on the week with three goals, all coming in the victory against Boston College. The hat trick was the first in Lubahn's career and the first for a Wake Forest player since Zack Schilawski's hat trick at Virginia Tech on October 2, 2009. Lubahn scored the last three goals of the match for Wake Forest, including two in the span of 58 seconds. He also scored the eventual game winner for his team-leading fourth game-winning goal of the season. For the year, Lubahn leads Wake Forest with seven goals and 14 points.

Freshman midfielder/forward Luca Gimenez also had a solid week, contributing three points. Gimenez put Wake Forest in front early in the second half at Elon with his fourth goal of the season. He also assisted on Lubahn's first goal of the match, which put Wake Forest in front 2-1. Gimenez is second on the team with 10 points, scoring four goals and two assists.

Freshman midfielder Chris Duvall had the best game of his young collegiate career against Boston College, tallying three assists. Duvall assisted on Luke Norman's equalizing goal early in the second half and then contributed on Lubahn's second and third goals. The final assist of the night proved to be the game-winning assist. Duvall has picked up four assists during his rookie season.

Junior defenders Kyle Adams and Norman each recorded their first goal of the season during the past week. Adams had the game winner in overtime in Wake's 2-1 win over Elon. Norman evened the game against Boston College at one early in the second half on his first score of the 2010 season.

Freshman midfielder Kyle Emerson and sophomore midfielder Ben Newnam also found the scoresheet over the last seven days. Emerson assisted on Gimenez's goal against Elon, while Newnam had the game-winning assist in overtime against the Phoenix. Emerson has four points on the season with a goal and two assists. Newnam has a pair of helpers on the year.

Redshirt senior Akira Fitzgerald made nine saves on the week and allowed four goals in a pair of wins. Fitzgerald now has a 7-7-2 record on the season with a 1.27 goals against average and 71 saves. For his career, Fitzgerald now has 227 saves and is three saves shy of moving into a tie for fourth in career saves in Wake Forest history.

Wake Forest honored its 2010 senior class in a ceremony before the Boston College game. The senior class of Russ Coleman and Josh Henke have been a part of one of the most successful periods in program history, helping the team to a national championship in 2007, three trips to the College Cup and two ACC regular season titles.

Wake Forest closes the regular season this week with two road games. The Deacs travel to Davidson on Tuesday night and close the season at Duke on Friday. Both games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
