GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomore forward Andy Lubahn has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week, as announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.

Lubahn shared the weekly honor with Clemson's K.C. Onyeador, who scored two goals and an assist in a pair of games for the Tigers last week.

Lubahn becomes the first Wake Forest player to earn player of the week honors from the conference this season. It also marks the second time in his career that Lubahn has received the ACC's weekly honor.

A native of Erie, Pa., Lubahn turned in the best game of his sophomore season last Saturday in Wake Forest's 4-3 win over No. 18 Boston College. Lubahn recorded his first career hat trick against the Eagles, scoring all three goals in the second half. With the game tied at one in the second half, Lubahn quickly gave the Deacs a two-goal advantage, scoring twice in the span of 58 seconds. After a BC goal cut the lead to 3-2, Lubahn capped off the hat trick with the eventual game-winning goal in the 71st minute. The hat trick was the first for a Wake Forest player since Zack Schilawski's hat trick on October 2, 2009, at Virginia Tech.

The victory against Boston College was an important one for the Demon Deacons, improving their record to 7-7-2 on the season and 4-2-1 in league matches. The win also clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament, November 9-14 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

Lubahn, who has started all 40 games in his career at Wake Forest, has a team-leading seven goals and 14 points on the season. Lubahn has scored five of his seven goals in conference matches, which ranks in a tie for second in the league. He has also tallied a team-best four game-winning goals. In his two-year career, Lubahn has found the back of the net 17 times for 34 career points.

Wake Forest is back in action on Tuesday night at Davidson. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
