Wake Forest returns home for the first time in four weeks to host ACC Atlantic Division rival Boston College on Saturday afternoon at BB&T Field. The game is set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN3.com. The game is also available on the Wake Forest ISP Sports Radio Network.
The Deacons (2-6, 1-4 ACC) are coming off a 62-14 loss at Maryland last Saturday in College Park. The setback was the sixth straight for Wake Forest. It also marked the first time in five seasons that the Deacons, who were idle on Oct. 23, lost in their first game following a bye weekend.
Maryland outscored Wake Forest 45-0 over the second and third quarters to break open what was a tight 10-7 game after the opening stanza.
Quarterback Tanner Price completed 16 of 31 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown to lead the Deacon offense. Price's touchdown pass went to sophomore wide receiver Terence Davis in the fourth quarter. It was Davis' first career touchdown grab.
Senior Marshall Williams caught five passes for a team-high 62 yards, while redshirt freshman Michael Campanaro caught three passes for 38 yards. Williams caught the 100th pass of his career on Saturday.
Boston College (3-5, 1-4) comes to Winston-Salem following a 16-10 home win over Clemson last weekend in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles' victory snapped a five-game losing streak and was the team's first conference win of the season.
The win was the first for Boston College since its Sept. 11 defeat of Kent State. The Eagles won their first two games of the season before going on a five-game losing streak.
Quickie Notes
- Dating back to 2003, the last seven games between Boston College and Wake Forest have all been decided by 10 points or fewer. BC holds a 4-3 edge in those games.
- Saturday's game could mark the first time in the FBS this season that two true freshman quarterbacks will start in the same game.
